Posts: 2 Oct 20, 2009 16:30:46	Tags : None ever since saturday our cat just wants to hide under the bed he will only come out briefly to use the litterbox or a quick bite to eat then he runs back under the bed and stays there all day and nite , this is not normal for him usually he is drinking water all day out of the bathtub or in the morning he usually is waking us up to eat and he just begs for dinner about 3pm on till he eats around 5pm , other than that he loves being in the window or even just sleeping on the bed , does anyone know what could be wrong with him ??? Posts: 5110 Oct 20, 2009 20:49:33 FF&F Staff Administrator Jo Down Under in Ozland	Something has spooked your baby,if no improvement is seen in the next day I would have him checked at the vet, pain can sometimes present with strange behavior not always with yowling as you might expect,Please keep us up dated.

Posts: 2 Oct 30, 2009 13:35:05	thanks for the info it has been over a week now and some days he is better than others but pretty much still hides ?? he was just at the vet a few weeks agao for not peeing they put a cathider in him and gave us medication when he came home . one wich was for pain , we had to squirt the liquid in his mouth 2 times a day for about a week , could this be what traumatised him ??? it was around that time he started acting like he does , it's just not like him at all !!! any other input would be grateful. thank you for your concern scott p.s. really cant afford vet at this time still making payments from last visit , anything we can do at home for him ???

Posts: 11 Oct 30, 2009 15:36:00	Maybe it is from the medication, but if he had a urinary problem I would also consider the possibility that it might have gotten worse. Cats often hide when they are sick and want to be left alone. If you haven't given him medication in a few days and he is still hiding I would say you need to take him back into the vet and make sure that the medication worked for him and there isn't anything else going on.

Posts: 6 Nov 2, 2009 20:07:47	I know what you mean about vet bills. Maybe you could just call the vet and they might be willing to give advise over the phone without you having to go in. After all you were just there. I just thought of something else, have you cleaned the floor lately? Kitties sometimes are very sensitive to different cleaners and hide because they are trying to get away from the scent of a cleaning product.
