Hello-I'm new to the board. I've been fostering for 2 years and have a 4 week old kitten with CH. Just looking for any nfo anyone may have on how to
help her. She's still drinking from a bottle-can't quite get the eating thing down. She's very wobbly, but is improving.

Fostermom, moved you post to feline health as more people will notice it that may have had
a kitty with this condition.,a few different things cause this,but in one so young it is most likely congenial ,and the babes born this way often improve more
then later suffers do,it is still too early to tell how much she will be affected. cats as you know adapt well.What have you called her?
as far as I know time is a wait and see thing,wish I could give you more help,I have not had a kit like this for quite a few years,keep us up dated and Thank you for all the work you are doing,this little one is lucky to have you. .

Thanks for the help.
Her name is Olivia. She came in orphaned with a brother (Oliver) and a sister (Olive). 2 other siblings died. She is getting better every day. This week she learned to eat on her own, although she sort of lays her head sideways in the plate and licks at it that way. She gets a bath after every meal! I have a 2 year old Siamese who has a similar condition, and is blind as well. He gets along wonderfully, so I have high hopes for her. |

Update on Olivia | #4 | ||
|
Olivia is eating on her own now without a bottle. She plays with toys and is able to climb things quite well. She falls a lot, but seems to know how to hit
withut getting hurt. I will post a picture when I can figure out how to do it..

I had a little foster kitten who had symptoms similar to CH so I initially researched it quite a bit, but it turned out his was a temporary neurological
problem brought on from anesthesia. However, I did find that a lot of these CH kitties were doing just fine with some minor help - litterboxes made easier to
get in and out, things like that.
When I visited Best Friends Animal Sanctuary there were several "wobbly" cats there. They were great. They'd adapted ways to get around, use the scratcher, etc. Thanks for caring for her! Did the litter have panleukopenia? |
