Im new to this site and i been reading alot on it so i thought maybe i can give the message board a try to find out if any of you might know whats wrong with my cat...
Well first of all he is 18 almost 19 years old... stricly indoor cat.. well kept
he doesnt have any big health problems that we know of besides hes anemic 19% it was last time we checked and his thyroid is overworking (sorry dont know the proper name)... but anyway other then that hes fine... i thought...
Last week he started acting lethargic and wouldnt hardly walk around sometimes stagger ... then days later he almost stopped eating completely ... so we took him to the vet and they said well it could be a lot of things ... so we did a bunch of tests hes negative for feline leukemia... and the other tests havent come back yet... im just kinda wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this just all of a sudden, the doctor actually said hes other then what we currently know perfectly healthy and for his age thats great...i also have to say im come germany and i live in the states but sometimes i go visit my folks then of course he stays home but im the main person hes connected too... since i know he sometimes gets depressed when i leave or actually aggressive could that have maybe been a part of it? i never been gone this long ... Im just really helpless and i feel like the doctor is annoyed to some extend..i wanna rule out anything that we havent checked maybe... i love my cat to death and if he was in pain or something i could accept that and put him down if i had too but i cant just sit here and wait for something to happen... anyways i would love every respond.... and yes i know hes old
still doesnt mean i wanna just give up on him... if theres something he could
possible need....hes not just an animal hes family...thanks alot

Jane, you are doing great with your senior boy(whats his name?) his age and thyroid problem
are most likely the cause of his symptoms, thyroid treatments often have to be adjusted, it is pretty normal for many of our elder pets to be clingy and be
happiest with the owner they love and never let any one make you feel bad for loving and wanting to do the best for your loved boy.If the thyroid is not the
problem ,the next thing I would think at his age is a kidney problem, these are all to common. Please keep us up dated.
