Posts: 4 Sep 26, 2008 18:52:30 Littermate	Tags : kittens, cats, oil, bathing, cleaning I have a kitten who got its leg stuck in between the boards of my deck (don't worry I got it unstuck). I had to use cooking oil to get it unstuck. I gave the kitten a bath & its fur has not returned to its fluffiness. The oil is still on the fur. Does anyone know what I need to use to get the kitten looking like its fluffy cute self? By the way, her name is Angel. Thank you. Edited by Suse: Added search tags, clarified subject title. Use a little bit of Dawn dish detergent on a damp wash cloth. Dawn is what Greenpeace animal rescuers used when marine life was so badly coated during the Exxon Valdez oil spill. It's been used ever since for oil and oily substances on animals' fur. Wonderful stuff! It lifts any type of oil quite well. Afterwards, use wipe Angel down really well to clean the residual soap left behind so that she doesn't lick any Dawn residue. Please keep us posted and give little mischieveous Angel mega scritches for me. Enjoy the forums.
