When you say that your vet did blood work, did he run a full complete blood panel? If he did, he can tell by the tests results if the liver evaluations are high. We're going through really bad times with our oldest cat in our feral cat colony, Sylvester, who dropped from 17 pounds to 5 pounds in approximately 5-6 weeks. Our initial problem in getting him promptly to the vet was, since he's a feral, he disappeared for several weeks. By the time we found him on Labor Day, he was in a very bad condition.

If it is high liver evaluations, Sammy should be on a medication to bring them down, plus he will need daily subques. Those are quite simple to do at home - your vet will send home needles, leads, and the IV solution. We're giving Syllie 150cc daily right now.
