Posts: 1 Aug 31, 2008 20:11:19 Littermate	Tags : cat health, medication, worms Hello, I took the time to sign up since there was no feedback or contact us email. I am directed to this site often by google when my cat is sick or I need information. The information I usually need is what to give my cat if it has a certain type of worm, etc. All I get from this site is usually a sentence like: GIVE THE CAT THE TABLET....OR IT IS A LIQUID THAT WILL CURE HER. Useless information. I am very frustrated often about this. My cat has white rice worms. You say give them a tablet. WHAT KIND OF TABLET? Is it Drontal, Panacure, Albon, Strongid??? How much? As stated often on this board, we are not here as a substitute for veterinary care, but support for and interaction with other pet caregivers. That being said, wise counsel from this board advises that you take your cat in and find out from your Vet exactly what meds are needed, at what dosage, and for what length of time. All worms are detrimental to your cat's health, but some are nastier than others. No doubt you'll want to target the right worm and, also vitally important, find if others types of parasites are present that are not seen w/the naked eye. Let us know how your little pal progresses after veterinary treatment.

I'm not a vet and cannot offer veterinary advice. Most of the articles on my site are written by vets (all written by me state that I've done so, all written by vets have credits given to them). Veterinary treatment should be addressed by your veterinarian. The Administrators here and I cannot give out dosages or provide names of drugs for you to use on your pet. You must take your cat into the vet for a diagnosis. Each of the drugs you mention are prescribed veterinary drugs; only a vet can dispense them and will do so after a physical examination of your cat. If your cat has worms, its absolutely vital that you take your cat to the vet for proper treatment. Let us know how his/her vet visit goes.
