If anyone can give me some suggestions, I'd certainly appreciate it...female cat and she is depressed...lots of upheavel in the last 4 months. Have taken
her to the vet and he gave her medication due to her licking herself so severely that she was down to the bare skin - antibiotics and Prednizone. She spent
the last two days hiding under my shed - not eating, drinking or exercising; finally got her out at 10:30 last night using catnip or at least I think it was
the catnip that worked. She wants to hide, doesn't purr anymore...she did eat last night and is drinking water as I am writing this...she has bee
depressed like this for the last month or more...I'm at my wit's end not knowig what to do...vet does not seem to think she is depressed, thinks she
has allergies or a skin condition...I think she's depressed hence the over-grooming and skin condition. Thanks

I can understand why your vet has thought your kittys skin condition has made her depressed
and not eating,on the other hand you know your kitty and what has been occurring in your home. Has she ever done this before? This seems a very extreme
symptoms,is the turmoil in your home settling? I think you and your vet are both right, the vet's about the skin and you about the upsets in the home, really
the same thing, one causing the other, keep up the meds and give her loads of reassurance, keep her inside, even if she is use to going out and with the food, while
the antibiotics are some time what stop a animal eating the Preds should make she very hungry ,tempt her with every thing you knows she loves normally ,time
maybe the only thing for your girl (what is her name?) Please keep us up dated.
