So. Oreo being quirky was bad enough, but he's had an on-going problem of wanting outside.
He waits at the door, of course, and then he bolts when you least expect it. But the bad thing is, he's declawed in the front. (I know, I'm sorry ;_; )
We got him a bit feral, and he's always tried getting out. I tend to freak when he's out too long. About three weeks ago he got out and stayed away for HOURS. I went outside, shaking his kitty treats (which he goes nutso for indoors, but outside he ignores them....blah.) and sobbing as I called his name.
I spent about an hour outside in my pajamas calling for him, and he finally came. He must have been way far out in our neighborhood.
I live in rural suburbia. The houses are all different, and everyone's got a yard that's a fairly good size. But that doesn't mean I still don't know what's out there.
He's really bad about it, and I'm afraid something bad might happen to him soon
He's about 4 now, come this July, and he's been doing this ever since
the first year we had him.
Does anyone have any suggestions for deterring this little escape artist? Or is it too ingrained that he can escape and leave?
