Thank you ever so much for your warm welcomes.
My fur babies are: Kyra a Newfoundland mix. She was sold by a "breeder" who is breeding Newfoundlands as s purebred with a "North American" register (which is phony). She lived in a cage for her first year and then tied in someones backyard, she had no social skills she was a big girl who was craving attention. She's my clown, my diva, my wild child shes four going on one.... I love her and her spirit and she's as smart as a they come. She excelled in obedience and just want's to please everyone. She is my big social butterfly who loves the dog park and has to greet all the dogs and their owners. My boy Boris a Bernese Mountain dog, came to me just three weeks after we had to put our 10 year old Bernese Mountain dog Cappuccino down he was suffering from kidney failure. The loss was tragic and we were not ready for another dog. But Boris was surrended to the Bernese Mountian dog Club of Canada, and needed a home right away, so I got the call and I couldn't say no. He's came from a Puppy Broker which is a fancy title for "puppy mill" was sold to a women who owned him for 8 months and decided she didn't want him anymore. He's an absolute gem, so mild mannered, loves people and just wants to curl up beside your leg and have you stroke his head, the vet thinks he's three. No one seems to know his age, I guess the Puppy Broker did keep good records.(What's wrong with these people) Their loss my gain, because he's absolutely wonderful. My barn cat Leo, when I picked him up from a coworker, she had no idea how old he was, my vet was sure he was about four weeks old, he was full of worms ear mites and ticks.... I nursed him and he's my big 7 year old orange male who is cranky and hates everyone except for me.... and I love him to bits because I swear he talks to me in his own little way. He sits on my lap at night while I watch tv and is quite content as long as I don't pet him, then he stomps off. Maybelle was picked up from a rescue group, I wanted a kitten, I love kittens and we had lost our long haired tortie "Annie" to heart disease. We were going to look at this kitten, and on our way we weren't convinced that we really needed a kitten, (my husband wasn't convinced) but I was driving so I say "maybe we will and maybe we won't get this kitten" hence the name Maybelle. She's actually my sons cat, he fell in love with her. She was about 6 inches of badness, and he was hooked. She's my other rebel female. My males are laid back and whatever goes is cool.... My females run the house.

Just love your writing, and descriptions of the animals. I can tell you love them very much, and they have found such a great home with the 3 of you. Would
love to see pictures if you get the chance.
I assume that Leo is your avatar? Precious!! |

Great descriptions that just pour out the love you have for them. You rescued them from their fate and they are repaying you tenfold....isn't it
wonderful?
Definitely looking forward to pictures!

Donna, I split this topic when it went off topic from your introduction of yourself and pets to about orange cats in general. That part is over in Cat Talk:
http://fabulousfelinesandfidos.yuku.com/topic/6232 Just wanted you to know in case you thought the rest of your thread was deleted. We don't delete threads on this board.
