Re: Excessive grooming (reply)
I have the same problem with both my cats. It started after my daughter was born. Like you, I took them to the vet numerous times to be checked and they have no medical issue as the cause. I attribute it to stress (from the baby 5 years ago) which turned ...

Re: Feliway Diffuser (reply)
I haven't used the Feliway diffuser, but I did order some Feline Phermone liquid from Petmeds.com. My two cats were being very aggressive towards one another and I did some research online and felt that would possibly help. It does help, but instead of ...

Re: New Kitten Quite Aggressive (reply)
When my cats were kittens (and even now when they do something I don't approve of) I yelp or whine in a really high pitch drawn out OWWWWCH! It has always stopped their undesireable behaviour dead in it's tracks. I think that they get somewhat caught up ...

So sorry for your loss of your pets... If this happens again with any of your other animals, I would encourage you to contact your local humane society and see if they would be willing to provide medical care for your sick pet if you surrendered them. ...

I agree with big cats, it seems very neurological. My guess is FIP. Very contagious, deadly, and can have many symptoms, including odd behavior and excessive drinking. However, I'm no expert and that's just a guess. It sounds to me like you have a lot ...

Re: New Kitten Quite Aggressive (reply)
My 4 year old cat was like that in her earlier days. My mother found her on the side of the highway after she was hit by a car as a little kitten, nursed her back to health, and gave her to my brother and his girlfriend. After six months they had to give ...

Re: cats behavior not normal (reply)
I know what you mean about vet bills. Maybe you could just call the vet and they might be willing to give advise over the phone without you having to go in. After all you were just there. I just thought of something else, have you cleaned the floor ...

Re: can anyone help with weight gain? (reply)
It sounds like her appetite is good and that is great. I use Whiskas Cat Milk, it is a dietary supplement, I hope you can find it in the grocery store need you, and on occasion I give my cats human baby food. The baby food is high in protein. Cheers !

Re: can anyone help with weight gain? (reply)
Did the vet have any suggestions? I am thinking of healthy fatty treats, like fresh cream or cheese or yogurt. I have to confess, I have a begger for a cat and he loves yogurt. It sounds like you are doing a great job and he is eating well.

Diabetes in Cats - why is INSULIN so expensive? (topic)
Hi -- I'm a cat-mom with LOTS of kitties. I do my best to get them check-ups annually, and feed them high quality foods. Way back in 2000 one of my cats was diagnosed with diabetes. We used the insulin called HUMULIN U. It cost about $25.00 a bottle. ...

Re: cats behavior not normal (reply)
Maybe it is from the medication, but if he had a urinary problem I would also consider the possibility that it might have gotten worse. Cats often hide when they are sick and want to be left alone. If you haven't given him medication in a few days and ...

Re: Geriatric Cat Question (reply)
I remember when my guy was getting older, he was looking for somewhere warm to lay. You might try a heating pad set on the lowest setting of course and turn it off after an hour or so. Cheers!
