The vet was definitely concerned and since we were going to spay her anyway she highly recommended to move up the surgery and get everything removed and done...at double the price of the original quote. I was all for it, but my fiance has been hard to convince...he keeps saying to me if it's cancer what's the point of putting her through the pain of any surgery at all, and seeing that she's 9 yrs old already - why do anything at all?
...this makes me wonder how long is a Lab's average lifespan? I've seen websites saying 10-12, and others say 15...
A friend of ours works for a vet, and we asked her vet's opinion she says that it's almost 100% cancer being where the lumps are and that she's intact...and the odds of the cancer coming back after removal is also almost 100% in 6-12mo, or she could live 6-12mo with cancer and not suffer.
After this we decided to have it biopsied with a needle...the results were that it's a "mixed mammary tumor" and they can't tell whether or not the cells are carcinoma...so...$200 later we're back to square one. After hearing that my fiance says let's just spay her and not do anything about the breast lumps then...I feel like if we do that then we're neglecting her, and I want him to know if he wants to do that what can we expect to happen to Kali? Will she suffer? I don't even know what a mixed mammary tumour is supposed to mean...to me it just means nothing, but definitely worse then a cyst.

She seemed so uncomfortable after coming back from getting the biopsy, I can
only imagine the pain after getting all opened up after major surgery - poor baby
Healing vibes to Kali, she will feel better real soon.
I just cringe when I see her do that and try to coax her away from sitting like
that...I guess she's not in pain??
