Nothing wrong with being feral, that's what I always say Great to hear that he's coming by to eat.

I, too, almost always have that feeling of regret when returning a cat to its colony... but when you really think about it, that's what they know and what they are most comfortable with. So we do the best we can to make sure their needs are met, and we just figure that they're better off now, fixed, than they were...

We decided, after almost 2 months with no success in this boy taming, to release him. He's not ear-tipped, because we had no way to get him back in the trap without him or us getting hurt, but he's hanging close and comes to eat every night. Our camera shows he's looking very healthy and his eyes still seem to be doing fine. He was so depressed that we were afraid the stress would do him more harm....it was easier on him to be a feral again....otherwise we were afraid he would...

His eyes are doing much better now and the bite wound is completely healed but his attitude hasn't changed and he's hating us with a passion. I'm sure now that he's feral or close to it, but we've dealt with that before as well and he will tame down eventually.

He had to be good, Kim, Wally took him in a trap and they knocked him out first! Not much he could do under anesthesia!!

Excellent news! I just tested a bighead giant orange cat ("Hank") we picked up last week. I was sure he'd be FIV+. Nope

Good luck on the eyes too... they don't look terrible and they do look clear. Was he a good boy at the vet?

He tested negative! I know that the bite wound (and it is a bite wound) means that in another 6 months he should be retested though. Our vet said the eyelid thing is due to poor nutrition and should correct once he's built up with some quality food. I'm so relieved! Thanks for the thoughts and prayers....I know that someone sent good vibes.

Handsome man! Good luck with his test tomorrow.... he looks "suspect" (big tom head, wounds) but here's hoping! What Siamese rescue wouldn't want a pretty boy like him?

That's not a notch (neutered) on his right ear, it it?

My foster girl Ruby had the third eyelid problem, leftover from poorly treated eye infections as a baby. They looked like his eyelids, but also got very pink whenever she was...

These are pictures of our latest feral that we trapped to TNR. Unfortunately, he seems to be partially or almost blind due to protruding third eyelids and ever so crossed eyes. He also has a wound on his leg that needs to be checked. He has an appointment tomorrow for ELISA testing, neutering, overall check up, shots, etc. If he test negative on the ELISA we might have a Siamese rescue willing to take him once we calm/tame him. Not sure if he's truly feral or just scared to death since...
