I figure this goes here, since it's about behavior.

Years ago when I was looking for a new baby to bring home, I went to our local no-kill shelter with the intention of bringing home an adult cat as a companion for my one girl kitty.

I brought home Marquis. He was a plump little man, about 5 years old. He had lived at the shelter for the last 3 years, having been captured as feral. He lived happily in the shelter the whole time, was very friendly to all of the other residents there. He...

I think the main point made is don't let your pet be labeled with a human type explanation that we throw around to describe people that we just think odd when a cat behavior is anti social, look deep for a medical physical reason, especially when symptoms arise out of the blue. <div...

After 5 wonderful years, my 5 year old male cat started having similar episodes where out of the blue, he would yowl, hiss and violently attack my husband and I. We had our share of blanket capturing incidents as well. He would completely lose it, would attack even if you ignored him or stayed out of his way, then after a 10-15 minute time out, he would be as if nothing had happened. Long story short, 6 months and thousands of dollars in tests later, he was finally (and we believe accurately)...

I know there are cats who behave this way (I have one foster right now who does!), and I know that torties have the reputations of being prone to this behavior. I also know that cats with these behaviors can be successfully treated with anxiety medications such as Prozac, Elavil, etc. However, the term "feline schizophrenia" is a joke, and not an accurate one. If a vet is using the term, they are using it for lack of a better description. Schizophrenia in humans can only be...

We had the cat examine psychological along with numberous test. And she is nuts, she will come up to you allow you to pet her. And then will go bonkers. I have had to get stitches, and such. And we have been debating putting her under. I do not belive much research has been done. My father has had one cat I know come into his clinic, which he...
