Distemper survivor getting older???

Our dog was found a few years ago by my daughter. At that point she was probably about 5 - 6 years old. She has always walked "funny" on her rear legs, she gets twitches and shakes in them, and she is also pretty lethargic most of the time. Years ago, we had a dog that did have distemper and survived, and he was never the same, much like this dog, even more lethargic. Front ankle pain

I found a pup a few months ago at the cemetery setting on a pile of snow. After watching him for half an hour or so my daughter and I decided to bring him home. I saw worms in my dogs stool and I purchased some meds today D Worm. I didn't realize that the med is only good for round and hookworms until after I gave it. What is a good effect med for tapeworms and how long should I wait to give it to them since I just gave them the other today?

How have you gotten your pups to be comfortable with getting wet? Our Bodhi is 9 weeks old (shepherd/terrier mix), and while she loves to drink water, she doesn't like getting herself wet. I will not force her into water or immerse her. She will need to come out of her own volition, but I do feel curious about methods that would allow us to help her gain confidence. So far I've taken her into the tub (empty, except for her and me), given her treats while I let the water run minimally...

daschund odor problem

Our family was given a male daschund about 2 1/2 years old, about two months ago. He has played with our dog for two years, the dashund would be passed over the fence. We noticed that he doesn't have any hair in his armpits and the odor comes from that area. He is overweight and now goes on daily walks and thus has lost about 1 1/2 pounds. Ty & Tucker had a appt on Friday for their 2nd boosters.

Happy to report Ty's eye is aok now The meds & ointment worked great! They got their 2nd boosters, bordetella and dewormed.

Ty was 18 lbs and Tucker 18 lbs 6 oz. They are growing like little weeds!!! They go back on the 21st for their 3rd boosters. And once their old enough they'll be neutered.

Yesterday I noticed Ty's 3rd eyelid covering his left eye when he had it somewhat open ... took him to the vet this am, Tucker came along for the ride, and the vet said she couldnt see a scratch but she's treated it as one. She gave me some ointment to put in his eye 3X/Day and a pill to give him 2X/Day. One is a anti-inflammatory so she said it should help with the pain.

I weighed them and I can not believe how quick they are growing ...

Are certain breeds (or mixed breeds) more tolerant of cats?

Okay...my cat Stormy seems to be feeling better and I'm thinking about quitting one of my part-time jobs, thus being at home more...and I would really like a Dog with a good bark to accompany Stormy and me when we go camping or traveling in the truck-camper; and just because it would get me (and Stormy) out of the house on walks, to parks, etc. I miss having a dog.
. I've read that some dogs, like Whippets and Greyhounds and a lot of terriers, consider cats to be good...

Ashton had 3 tumors removed about a month ago from her mouth .... and in November when the initial ones were removed it took 3 months for them to come back ... well sadly its been about a month & on Sunday I noticed a bright red tumor is back already

I made a appt for tom. afternoon for her I want to get my vets opinion on what to do .... we are leaning toward not removing it b/c one it came back so quick this time...

whipworm question

My vet recently told me my two dog had whipworms. I took them in with a stool sample from both due to weight loss and green/bloody mucus looking stool with a foul smell. We treated with panacur for 3 days and put them on a monthly treatment/control all wormer (interceptor). It has been 2 and a half weeks since first treatment and pill given and the stool has not changed. They cannot hold it and keep pooping all over the house during the night. Ashtons having surgery Update

On Friday ... there are 2 places in her mouth that have come back, cancer the vet is sure so we're having the spots removed. We know it wont change her fate any but we want her mouth to stay as comfy as possible so she can continue enjoying her raw hide bones and such. We got about 7 inches of snow from Sunday thru yesterday and she has been loving it! Will post some pics in the pic forum

Not sure I ever shared but a few months back Luca bit Wesley (My 4 yr old) in the face twice in 2 days ... well I begged Drew (dh) to let me work on it ... bottom line both situations I could see why it happened, Luca wasnt aggressive by any means. Well I promised Drew IF it ever happened again Id find Luca a new home.

Well long story short, last night Luca nipped Wes on the eye brow so I contacted a Doxie Rescuer & she's going to take Luca and work with him & keep him...

Kita's surgery

My Kita had a growth come up in her eye a little over a week ago. She also had 3 knots scattered around her ear and head so when the dr took the one off of her eye he also took those.
I've been scared to pieces that it was cancer again (she had it years ago) but the tests came back yesterday that all 4 places were benign!

I ran into a Herb Store about couple weeks ago & told the owner all about Ashton and her cancer diagnosis and she recommended starting Ash on E-Tea twice a day. E-Tea is suppose to boost the Immune System. So I bought it & went immediately to see my vet & get her opinion, she said 'sure why not' .. so I started Ash on it ....

Well I must first back track just a tish ... after Ash was diagnosed she no longer had any patience with Luca .. and it was sad because...
