I adopted my cat Jin from the shelter just last week, the shelter thinks he's 5 or 6 y/o. He was sneezing a lot on the ride home. For the first 2 days, he did not eat anything and only drank a bit of water. I thought he was getting used to the environment and thought to give him a day or two more. Then he stopped drinking as well the third day even though he seems to be feeling fine and was following us around the house. We took him to the vet at this point because he was not intaking any...

Hi everyone,
I am new to this community. I joined after running across some of the posts after doing a search for information.
I could really use some support and maybe someone who has experienced some similar problems.........
I have a 10 year old DLH tuxedo cat......Maine Coon mix (I think) I will post pics when I figure out more how to work this site lol

older cat crying/meowing

Jethro is 16 and has started to cry at night 10:30 exactly every night for 1/2 hour. He then crys at 4:45 in the am for about an hour. As you can imagine we are tired. He has no health issues that we know of. Eating fine . Anyone experience this and know what it is? He has free roam of the house so it is not that he can't get to us. I even leave a night light on for him and that didn't work.

Cat food, wet, which brand? Please help :)

My daughter's cat wil be living with us for awhile. He is a tabby, 7 years old, indoor. She has been feeding him
By Nature, just recently. Because we lost our cat, Dylan, to the tainted (poison) pet food 2 years ago, I am worried about what to feed him. By Nature, she buys it at Petsmart/Pectco, she lives out of state. My stores do not carry it.

I am totally at a loss of what to feed him. She has been feeding organic, gluten and wheat free. Anyone have any...

Hi -- I'm a cat-mom with LOTS of kitties. I do my best to get them check-ups annually, and feed them high quality foods.

Way back in 2000 one of my cats was diagnosed with diabetes. We used the insulin called HUMULIN U. It cost about $25.00 a bottle.

Now I find out the Humulin U has been discontinued ... seems like the two insulins that are the best for treating feline diabetes are PZI and LANTUS ... both costing close to $100 a vial!! MY GOSH - how do people...

Geriatric Cat Question

Hi, I have a 16 year old short hair black cat who I have had since his birth. He has a history of FLUTD and has had to have surgery twice but has been fine since his second surgery which was 12 years ago. He was recently diagnosed with renal failure and has been on Science Diet K/D wet and dry food with no issues. Every 10 weeks or so he has a violent bout of nausea and diahrea and has to be given a shot to stop the nausea and IV fluids, but then seems to do fine after that for awhile....

Excessive grooming

My 4 year old neutered male is grooming so excessively his belly and all four legs are hair less. He is strictly an inside cat and has no fleas. He has been to the vet a couple of time for the same problem, he has had a skin biopsy twice and both times it came back normal. I feed a good quality food with no by-products. I rescued a Main Coon/Ragdoll mix from the shelter 2 wks ago. He had a respiratory infection with sneezing and watery eyes. The vet gave me antibiotics. My other cat now has one eye that has gooey green pus and keeps closing and the other eye is very watery and puffy. Could the the cat from the shelter have given this to LuLu. She's an indoor cat .

ever since saturday our cat just wants to hide under the bed he will only come out briefly to use the litterbox or a quick bite to eat then he runs back under
the bed and stays there all day and nite , this is not normal for him usually he is drinking water all day out of the bathtub or in the morning he usually is
waking us up to eat and he just begs for dinner about 3pm on till he eats around 5pm , other than that he loves being in the window or even just sleeping on
the bed...

Extremely excessive face licking behavior of 6 month old

I have three 6 month old cats. Two are siblings male and female both neutered and they were bottled fed as kittens, the mother died. The female licks our skin ecessively. Our face, ears, ankles, any exposed skin she can get to.
The male does'nt do this and the other female cat which is from a different litter does'nt either. Has anyone had this experience or know what might be the cause of this behavior? nerd

New Kitten Quite Aggressive

Hi ...! I am new to this forum, and have been reading the articles posted about cat aggression. I have a three month kitten named Shilo who has been with the family for three weeks now. She is very aggressive at times, and very affectionate at times. I am trying to train her to not attack humans, and it's a bit exhausting.
